Mission Statement

Trainingforce was established in Queensland in 1998 delivering training to the major Whitsunday Region, such as Hamilton Island and Brampton Island and was one of the first Registered Training Organisations (RTO) in Australia to deliver on the job Vocational Training.

Objectives

Incorporated into Congia Enterprises in 2002 it continues its growth and with over 850 trainees to date enrolled it boasts one of the highest levels of completions and a service to its clients that is second to none.

Our material is Industry related and constantly revised ensuring currency and relevancy, empowering our clients and enhancing employment prospects whilst enabling future growth.

Our clients range from small Cafés to large Hotels making use of the Vocational Education and Training (VET) programs that have shown to be most effective and budget increases annually reflect the ongoing commitment.

As an accredited organisation all courses on our scope lead to nationally recognised qualifications.

Courses

1. Certificate II in Hospitality

  • This course is best suited for entrants to the industry with at least three (3) months experience wishing to accelerate skill acquisition, especially in customer service.
  • It is composed of six (6) core units and six (6) elective units. The electives are drawn to best reflect the area of occupation, i.e. Front of House, Room Service, Back of House (House Keeping), etc.
  • Ideally the student will be practicing the skills and would attend theory and underpinning knowledge sessions once monthly for approximately 2 hours.
  • Assessment of competency is through quarterly on the job observations, written quizzes (at the completion of each session) and verbal assessments.
  • As the course is structured from approved Australian Training Packages and is accredited by the Australian Skills Quality Authority (ASQA) it leads to qualifications that are nationally recognised and within the Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF).

2. Certificate III in Hospitality

  • This course is best suited for employees that have completed Certificate II or have worked in the industry longer than six (6) months wishing to prepare for lower management.
  • It is composed of seven (7) core units and eight (8) elective units. The electives are drawn to best reflect the area of occupation, i.e. Front of House, Room Service, Back of House (House Keeping), etc.
  • Ideally the student will be practicing the skills and would attend theory and underpinning knowledge sessions once monthly for approximately 2 hours.
  • Assessment of competency is through quarterly on the job observations, written quizzes (at the completion of each session) and verbal assessments.
  • As the course is structured from approved Australian Training Packages and is accredited by the Australian Skills Quality Authority (ASQA) it leads to qualifications that are nationally recognised and within the Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF).
  • Prior completion of units that may have relevance will receive Credit/Recognition in keeping with the National Vocational Education and Training Regulator Act 2011.

3. Certificate IV in Hospitality

  • This course is best suited for employees that have completed Certificate III or have worked in the industry longer than twelve (12) months wishing to prepare for middle management.
  • It is composed of nine (9) core units and twelve (12) elective units. The electives are drawn to best reflect the area of occupation, i.e. Front of House, Room Service, Back of House (House Keeping), etc.
  • Ideally the student will be practicing the skills and would attend theory and underpinning knowledge sessions once monthly for approximately 2 hours.
  • Assessment of competency is through quarterly on the job observations, written quizzes (at the completion of each session), short essay assignments, field research and verbal assessments.
  • As the course is structured from approved Australian Training Packages and is accredited by the Australian Skills Quality Authority (ASQA) it leads to qualifications that are nationally recognised and within the Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF).
  • Prior completion of units that may have relevance will receive Credit/Recognition in keeping with the National Vocational Education and Training Regulator Act 2011

4. Diploma of hospitality

Course Structure:
  • The course is made up of twenty-eight (28) units of competency from the approved and relevant training package.
  • There are thirteen (13) core units and fifteen (15) elective units that must be completed in order to achieve the qualification.
  • A sequence of progression is pre-set to allow exit points where students may apply to terminate further studies and receive a lesser qualification.
  • Prior completion of units that may have relevance will receive Credit/Recognition in keeping with the National Vocational Education and Training Regulator Act 2011.
  • This course is best suited for employees that have worked in the industry longer than twelve (12) months wishing to prepare for middle management
Course Duration:
  • This course is self-paced and as such students may complete before the expiration of the nominal end date.
  • Students are given 12 months from the date of enrolment to complete all tasks.
  • Extensions of further six months to complete can be considered where students can provide supporting evidence to support their written application of request and is approved at the discretion of the course provider.
What You Get:
  • An accredited qualification at the Diploma level within the Australian Qualification Framework (AQF) recognised Australia wide and accepted by tertiary institution for articulation purpose (This varies depending on the institution).
  • Nationally Recognised Training (NRT) compliant with all Australian Quality Training Framework (AQTF) standards and
  • Australian Skills Quality Authority (ASQA)
  • Appropriate logos affixed to the qualification and unique sequenced qualification number.
What you will need:
  • Access to the World Wide Web through an internet connection via a dial up modem or better.
  • English language competency in reading, comprehension and short essay structuring.

How is training conducted?
  • Training sessions are calendared once monthly and are of two hour duration.
  • Employers are advised of the entire years’ training by November of the previous year
  • Training is heralded a fortnight prior its commencement each month as a reminder.
  • Trainees that are unable to attend and notify in advance are kept updated via electronic means (E-Resources © unique to Congia Enterprises) ensuring a higher completion rate than our competitors.
How long does the traineeship last?
  • This depends on individual length of service, their employment status and their commitment to the traineeship
  • Traineeships are usually of a nominal period for full time employees ranging from 12 months (Certificate II entrants) to 24 months (Certificate III entrants)
How much does this cost me?
  • Fees for training are dependant on type of funding available through the incentives and are invoiced following receipt of funds.
How is this program funded?
  • Commonwealth funding is available to you. For each staff registered with TrainingForce, up to $4,400 gets deposited into your company account over two stages: N.B (all figures are inclusive of GST)
    • $1,375 upon commencement (Certificate II)
    • $1,650 upon commencement (Certificate III,IV)
    • $2,750 upon completion (Certificate III,IV)
Do we pay TrainingForce for their services?
  • Yes. An Administrative fee is charged following your receipt of funding per trainee and depends on the subsidies in place which vary with employee status.
  • This payment includes the following:
    • The management of all trainee paper work
    • Administration work
    • Resource material
    • Training
    • Assessments
    • Trainee contribution (effective January 1st, 2004)
What if trainees leave before they complete the traineeship? Do I have to pay money back?
  • Trainees must remain in your employment for three months after commencement for initial funding to be deposited into your account. This remains with you irrespective.
  • Trainees that leave after the commencement probationary period and fail to complete will deprive employers of the completion payment. It is therefore in your best interest to retain your staff for the entire length of the traineeship so you get the full advantage of the funding available to you
